How you came through for Noemi and her family in their time of need
Noemi, a three-year-old from Honduras, wants you to know her story.
Noemi’s aunt takes care of her and her brother, while her mother collects plastic for recycling. They live together in a one-bedroom house on a hill, made even smaller by the piles of water bottles they collect for their livelihood.
Like many living in poverty, Noemi’s family struggled to provide childcare and adequate food. As a result, they suffered from serious health issues. Noemi was in the middle of it all – helpless and hungry.
You turned their hunger into hope
You came through for them. Because you cared, Canadian Food for Children is providing them clothing, shoes and nutritious food.
“We no longer go to bed hungry,” Noemi says with a smile. “I am very happy and thankful!”
