Securities
Donating shares or mutual funds is a smart way to give in Canada, since there is no capital gains tax applied to any benefit received from the sale of securities.

To donate listed securities, you can obtain our Letter of Direction from your parish office or download a copy by clicking on it below.
There is no cost to use this gifting method. The Archdiocese of Toronto does not charge fees or take any commissions of any kind on the processing of gifts of securities as it is a service we provide. The only cost is a $150 brokerage fee from the broker. You are strongly encouraged to seek professional advice from a private financial professional before deciding upon any charitable gift using personal assets.
