Your gift creates a brighter future for food security
Three months into motherhood, Stephanie faced exhaustion and hunger—but your gift turned her struggle into hope.

Stephanie cradled her newborn with an empty stomach and a heavy heart. Three months into motherhood, she was physically exhausted, emotionally drained, and felt completely alone. More than anything, she felt the deep pangs of hunger. But because of you, that changed.
With your help, hunger turned into possibility
Your support helped connect Stephanie to Vita Centre, a ShareLife-funded agency and a recipient of the 2024 Food Security Grants, delivered in partnership with Catholic Charities, and a generous anonymous donor.
There, she found a lifeline. With your help, Stephanie received counselling, support, and a community to help her face the challenges of new parenthood. Through Supper Connection, Vita Centre’s food security program, Stephanie learned how to prepare healthy meals, which once felt impossible.
“Supper Connection kind of makes you go back to the roots—sitting down, cooking, and having meals with your family and friends,” she reflects. This sense of community and shared experiences with other young mothers provided her with not only practical tips but also emotional support. She learned to make mealtimes an enriching family activity, putting away distractions and focusing on each other.
Today, with a full stomach and a sense of possibility, she is considering going back to school. You made this possible. With your support, Stephanie and young parents like her can gain food security and a brighter future.
