Beatrice, a 24-year-old immigrant from Argentina, was in need of emotional and psychological assistance. At a time when she had nowhere to go, your were there for her.
Beatrice had a traumatic past, as she was sexually assaulted before moving to Canada. Trying not to look back, she thought starting over would allow her to overcome her fear and anxiety. Unfortunately, being in an unfamiliar place only heightened her distress.
Your love came through for her
Through your support, she received counselling from Catholic Family Services of Toronto. The sessions helped her process her trauma while she learned coping skills to manage her emotions.
“If it hadn’t been for my counselling sessions, I don’t think I would have survived the last year,” Beatrice recalls. “I am very, very grateful.”
