How you helped Maria escape an abusive past
Maria was like so many young people, facing a difficult predicament with no one to turn to and nowhere to go. They are often on the streets, running from different abusive environments, and are sometimes victims of sex trafficking.
Fortunately, Maria was able to turn to Covenant House for help. Although her past experience made it difficult to trust others, she learned she could safely rely on the the agency’s caring and compassionate staff.
A better and brighter future
With Covenant House’s help, Maria was able to work on herself. She eventually gained enough confidence and life skills to live on her own. Now free from the dark and unsafe world she once knew, she faces the future with hope and a chance to create a better life for herself.
