Food Security Grants
Archbishop Leo invites you to join the fight against hunger through ShareLife.

You encounter them every day in your community: countless families struggling to put food on the table. In response to their urgent need, ShareLife has launched the Food Security Grants – committing over half a million dollars to combat hunger.
Your compassionate support of the Parish Campaign will make possible this bold action. The Food Security Grants consist of three pillars:
- $250,000 in new funding to parish-based food banks and meal programs, distributed through the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Toronto Central Council.
- $150,000 in new funding to agency-run food programs, distributed through Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Toronto.
- $120,000 in funding that’s helping families right now through food programs recently launched by Catholic Charities member agencies.
“It is heart-wrenching and unacceptable that anyone today lacks access to food which is a most basic human right,” shares Archbishop Francis Leo. “Our parishioners are taking action in response to the Lord’s call to feed the hungry. Since the earliest days of the Catholic community in the Archdiocese of Toronto, the faithful have cared for those in need, on the margins of society and we continue this life-giving legacy.”
The fight against hunger needs caring people like you. Please support this work by contributing to your parish’s ShareLife Campaign. Thank you for heeding the Lord’s call to feed the hungry in your community and beyond.
